Sure, but all the money you save on accommodation will be spent taking cabs back and forth between your hostel and the beach. And then you'll waste hours as your taxi tries to navigate the streets during intermittent blocos. Rent an apartment near the beach from a private owner, they are easily found on the internet and considerably cheaper than hotels. Stay in Lapa?
