Duly noted and changed, Jason. Yes, I realize that the photo is not of a bar in Austin, however sometimes when using illustrative images, photos of the ACTUAL locales in question may not be available. When they are the actual locations, the cpation will generally reflect that fact. As you may notice in another photo of dive bar patrons, well, they may not be in Austin either, and in fact may be dead, but the photos reflect an atmosphere similar to what a visitor to the bars listed might encounter. That’s the intention anyway.

Thanks for using my photo! I’m glad that the creative commons license is being put to good use! However, the Truckers Lounge photo isn’t from Austin (one of my favorite cities) but from the bar Stinker’s in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Also my name is Rosenberg…with an “e.” No worries, I just don’t want your readers to look for a “Rosenburg” under a Truckers Lounge neon sign in Austin, because neither will be there.

But if you come to Silverlake, you might find a Rosenberg at Stinkers.

In Montreal, my favorite dive bars are spots like Barfly, Bar Norman, Chez Baptist and other broken down and utterly charming spots that you can’t find in any tourist brochures. You can find some of them, however, in this nifty Google map I made about Montreal Nightlife.

Alanna, Great gritty writing. I almost felt hung over from reading it. Some how I missed these bars when I was in Austin this Spring. But a couple of them I can do without. Do the words “Keep trotting Eddie. My friends are thirsty” mean anything to you?
