Hmmm … more than somewhat USA-centric. Nothing at all from Spain?

Some very nice choices, but I just don’t think it counts as a “favourite restaurants in the world” list. Perhaps better to say favourite restaurants of places you have been to in the world?

Oh my god I have to share – Il Giova in Florence, Italy. (Borgo La Croce)

The best and most tenderly delicious filet with balsamic, home made ravioli, house wine without a label, and only 5 or so tables in the whole place. very private in a touristy city – be sure to make a reservation, though!

I highly recommend Ed’s in Soho, London, England. I only went there the other day for a snack (it was my boyfriend’s pub-crawl birthday) and it’s just really, really tasty food.
It’s a 50’s style diner with a really nice atmosphere, and it’s on the corner of 2 streets, with huge windows, and it felt like someone should be taking some colourful photographs while we were eating. Lovely staff, very tasty cheese sauce, a late-40’s jukebox, the most divine chocolate milkshake I’ve had in my entire life. (And one order consists of two tall glasses-worth of the godly stuff!)
The only downside is the relatively small menu. It’s mostly a place for snacking on a night out, or a light lunch on a day trip through London. I ended up getting quite sad though, because I was so full and couldn’t finish my cheesy chips. And it’s a maze to get to the non-signposted toilets…!
Really, really lovely place though.
