Great article! I just got back from Japan and am in love with tsukemen ramen. I’ve been trying, unsuccessfully, for some time to contact Yasube for franchising opportunities, does anyone have any contact with these folks. (I don’t speak/write Japanese) =(

Check out Koisaimen in Nerima. They recently opened. The richest and greasiest Tsukemen soup I’ve ever had.

Listing a “top ten” for ramen is a risky busness — the field is super-competitive with tons of variety, and the choice of what’s best is really about personal choice.

Part of what makes ramen in Tokyo great is the neighborhood experience, and part of it is the variety. Jangara is very different than my neighborhood place and I love them both. Besides, how can you have a top-ten list and not include Keika Ramen?????

Best ramen in Japan is in Kamikawa, Hokkaido – miso broth with mountain vegetables.
